No thanks. Was in a physically abusive for two years and I wouldn't ever want that again or lifestyle. No way I'll pass... That's proof enough for me .. ✌️

No way. False reports of domestic abuse against men are actually as rare as false reports of other crimes (it happens, but not as often as you would think). Studies show that male abusers, however, are more likely to falsely report that they are victims (when in fact they are victimizers). It's another abuse tactic. Abusers are usually very skilled manipulators, and their friends and families often support them, believing that they are innocent and blameless. A DV charge is such a gigantic red flag, I'd not take the chance. Ninety-nine times out of 100 their sob story of how they were wrongly accused is total bullsh*t. If you so choose to date someone with a history, at least take it slow and keep your eyes very, very peeled for red flags: jealousy, controlling behavior, knocks on your self esteem, gaslighting, blaming others (especially his ex) for his behavior, etc. I understand men can genuinely be victims of DV, but most men who claim to be victims are abusers. It totally sucks they ruin the credibility of real victims, but they lie like that because it's so damn effective. The next woman believes his "this was an exception/misunderstanding" story, and pretty soon she's sucked into an abusive relationship.

HELL NO! After being in a rough relationship I would NEVER choose to be with someone I knew had a history of that!

It could just be a misunderstanding that led them to be charged, so yes, I would - if I weren't married. Everyone is so quick to judge without even thinking about the possibilities.

My daughters dad had one and I never really thought about it. But in September of last year he broke my face so i will never again date a man with a history of violence.

Nope my friend did and her and her boyfriend he had a charge and actually went to jail for it...they dated and were okay then one day they got in an argument and he SLAMMED her In between a door and beat her! I'm tellin ya not matter what they say or do...you coils seriously end up injured or even worse...dead! And I know another girl same thing happened to her besides she got DRAGGED from her car to her apartment and was held captive there and before that they were in the car and he slammed her head into the window while she was driving she ended up in the hospital the next day... Please be careful

My ex husband was abusive (bit me and left a huge bruise of his upper and lower teeth on my arm. Smacked me a few times. Once his ring left a nice welt on my face. Drug me across the carpet until I had burn marks down my back, several times. Grabbing my wrists and pinning me down while he told me I wasn't worthy of being loved. No one would ever love me. That we couldn't get pregnant because I wasn't worthy of carrying his child. Among many other things he said. Pinched my thighs repeatedly, it was pretty much the only spot he could do it and the bruises would always be covered. I sent pics to my dad every single time and two friends just in case I needed to get out and so people would know what was going on. Other than that I kept my mouth shut. He was in the military and I didn't want to ruin his career. I didn't want his family, friends, and Co workers to know anything. We did speak to a chaplain on base who saw the bruises. He asked to report it, I said no. Chaplains are held to 100 percent confidentiality no matter the situation. One night we got into an argument. I left the room. He followed. He backed me into a corner and as soon as I saw his arm go back and his hand go up, I struck him. Not hard, just enough to get him to back up and get away from me. He called the cops and pressed charges. The judge ended up siding with me because he provoked me. I got a small fine and a don't do it again, he also withheld adjudication. Meaning no charge. The military pressed for a guilty charge because he fined me. Sometimes you might not have the full story. I don't have a history of violence. I hate touching people and people touching me. I did have to warn my fiancé though, if we ever get into an argument and he starts moving around a lot or really fast, it has massive trigger potential. He's been really careful with how he moves and touches me and we rarely argue. So. My last boyfriend wasn't so good. He'd grab me by the wrists all the time. It used to freak me out.

My fiancé has a DV misdemeanor on his record because his ex was threatening him with a knife and he was trying to get it away from her. She was yelling to call the police and unfortunately in instances like this the police always side with the woman. He had to take an anger management class and pay a fine. We have never had problems like that in our relationship. I don't want to say every case is different but in my case it was. (I know his ex so ik the things he said she was doing are 100% true)
