Help?! Please?!

Question

My husband and I have been married for a year, come June. He's been a smoker since he was 15 and now he's 36. I just started smoking a year ago. I'm planning on quitting February 1, so I'm excited about that!

​We've been trying since our wedding night to get pregnant, but AF keeps showing up every month. 
​I'm scared that because we're both  smokers, I'll never get pregnant.

​Do you think that we'll be able to conceive?

All I want is his baby. I don't want to adopt ( unless we've tried every other option and nothing works), I don't want another mans baby ( donor). I think it would make him very happy to have a son or daughter that came from his own seed.

Literally, all I can think about is havin a baby! 
​I don't think that I could ever wait as long as you did... I'm surprised that I've waited this long. My husband and I agreed that If I didn't get pregnant by my birthday (August 31), then we would go see a doctor to find out what is preventing is from having a baby. I definitely know that the bd factor isn't a problem... We have sex at least three times a week... I'm scared that it might be me that's preventing us from conceiving. Or it might be him... 
​I'm his second wife and I had asked him if he and his first wife had gotten pregnant and he told me no. That surprised me because they had been married for 7 years. But it turns out that there was something wrong with her tubes and after 2 kids, she couldn't have anymore children.

I definitely think stress can play a part. It took me 27 months to conceive my son. The last month I gave up and that's when it happened. I also think other things played a role too (I conceived on our first wedding anniversary and I promised my dad before he died that I would wait until I got married before having kids. So I think he bad something to do with it. Is that crazy? Lol). We are currently on month 7 TTC #2 but this is the first cycle we tried anything aside from hopes and prayers (preseed, OPKs, softcups).

​I haven't gotten a OPK... The only thing that I count on is Glow... I just started using glow about 3 weeks ago... I like it a lot!

​I think that I haven't gotten pregnant as of yet because I'm always stressing about getting pregnant.

Many women also temp and take their BBT (basal body temp) because doing so will tell you exactly what day you ovulate but I get confused so I stick with OPKs.

BFP is big fat positive (positive pregnancy test) and OPK is ovulation predictor kit. They help you determine when you are ovulating. You can buy cheap ones from eBay or amazon, walmart or the dollar store. I used the dollar tree ones as well as the Clearblue Easy ovulation monitor (the pink one) this cycle since I have 38 day cycles. They help a lot so you know when to BD (baby dance /sex) :)

Although smoking is very unhealthy for the body I don't think it would be the only thing preventing you getting your bfp. My dad smoked for years and I'm here :) Have you tried using OPKs to tack when you are ovulating?
