Nipple shields?

Has anyone tried using them? I tried to bf my daughter but found it so unbearably painfull I had to stop, I know I'm very early in my pregnancy but wanted as much information as possible?

I used one those with my daughter and I couldn't have made it through without it! I was recommended to me by a lactation consultant and it worked very well for me. I would absolutely use one if you have a difficult time/pain while nursing. I got mine from target if I remember correctly :)

Where do you find these nipple shields? I've never heard of them, but when I tried to feed my son the pain was unbearable! But I plan on breast feeding this time around! Thanks in advance!!

I tried them but they didn't work.  It was really painful for me the first month.  I pumped and nursed (mostly pumped) the first month until my boobs toughened up.  Then I was able to nurse with no issues until she was 13 months.
